Dealing with the Italian “Office for the Complication of Simple Things”, as it is ironically called by Italians, can be really awful if you don’t know how it works and you don’t speak the local language. You need to be a lawyer for yourself. That’s why I am here: to provide you with information, advice and to help sorting practical issues, like setting up electricity or getting the autoroute Telepass, for example, as well as sorting eventual tax, fiscal & law problems. About me
“Hello, my name is Laura. I was born in Perugia, where I am currently based after having lived 18 years in Milan, 3 years between Ancona and Senigallia and, yes, a few months in London when I was twenty something. Having spent time abroad, I know what difficulties a foreigner goes through while dealing with unfamiliar laws, mentality and rules in a new country.
Since I’ve always worked as self employed, I am used to dealing with the public administration in Italy and I have a reliable network of lawyers, accountants and other professionals that I can refer to for initial advice. Not only that, being a journalist by profession, I am absolutely tenacious. I will act solely in your interests, stepping in to manage a situation directly, if required.
Other than my beloved Umbria, I also know the Marche region well because that is where my roots are – in a small medieval town called Sarnano, in the province of Macerata. Having travelled a lot for work and thanks to my innate curiosity I can say I am familiar with most of the country and in particular, Sicily. I adore the island and have visited often for over 25 years. Finally, another favourite of mine is Lombardy, a region which is surprisingly beautiful.
